About the artist: Derek is a professional fashion, portrait and commercial photographer. His photography often pairs strong tonal contrasts with subtle elements to create dramatic yet classic images. At a very young age, Derek exhibited an affinity for art and this continues to influence his work today. 

About the shoot: This was a fun shoot designed to show off model Melissa Rae’s great bikini moves by using the streets as our runway. Halfway through the shoot I told my production team: “We’ve got a bikini in the street” and hence the name of the shoot was born.
